co ordinates

    ive noticed a lot of people seem to keep records of the co ordinates of places they have stayed are they just using them from guides or is there a way to find the co ords when your on the ground ?without a dedicated gps device we have sat navs and phones?

    Your SatNav will tell you and there are various phone apps that will too.

    Your satnav will normally show your current co-ordinates if you put your finger on your current location (it does on a Garmin). Your phone may well do something similar when on maps. On many phones now the co-ordinates are saved with any photos you take, although you may have to look at the properties of a photo on your PC to see them.

    Hi mitzi's

    Your sat nav should show the co-ordinates of where you are, you can go to "help me" on TomTom or just in browse maps.

    Bottom left is where we are.

    Google maps will give you the co ordinates of a location. It's a bit of a faff though.

    If you want the co ordinates for your location then if you're using a iPhone the built in Compass app will tell you.

    On our Garmin it has where am I you can then save co-ordinates to favourites
