Whilst packing for our Spring trip (8 weeks) I am undecided about exterior cleaning materials. We go away to have FUN and tour an area-I don't consider washing and polishing a van FUN-but,after 8 weeks in Spain and France it will be a tads mucky and take some time to get ready for next trip.
So,what do you do ? If you take cleaning materials how comprehensive a kit do you take, and how often do you clean the van ?

    Mike.

The only thing I take is a packet or two of baby wipes, to get the flies off the front. Once the blood etc soaks into the GRP it is next to impossible to remove.

Pete usually chucks in the brush with the telescopic handle that attaches to the hosepipe, to get the road kill pebble dashing off the front - no other way of reaching the overcab when you haven't got the 8ft stepladder with you! - and much easier to reach the middle of the windscreen too.

And we don't go anywhere in - or on - anything - without an original 'Jaws' American microfibre cloth.

The brush is one thing I'm thinking about-I do have a spongy, squegeey thing on a short telescopic pole-about 1 mtr that is fine for windscreen -and I just washed the microfibre cloth

If it's clean before I go, only stuff for the w/screen, and hope for the best.

It is likely that the front of your mh is clad with aluminium or some other such light alloy. The body of you mh, the habitation area will be made from GRP.

Standard plastic black bucket, stored inside under dinette seat inside which
we put toilet rolls, wet wipes, etc, therefore takes up no space at all.
Extendable car wash brush, with head screwed off and placed into two
plastic carrier bags, one inside other so can be stored wet inside locker.
1 litre plastic bottle containing my favourite wash and wax.
I like to keep our van clean and don't mind the hour or so it takes to wash
it. Last year during six weeks away France, Spain and Portugal I washed it on
three occasions. Personally always feel better when van is shining, also find it
easier to keep clean when cleaned regularly.

    Regards
