Been out today with the Germans and Italian bikers for a tour up a mountain and had lunch at a restaurant overlooking Lake Garda. Rory has gelled with his bike all I see of him is his taillight. Oh and it has not rained since we left England.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. You must be on a different planet to the weather forecasters. Well done you lot.

It's not quite tears from me. Got back and had some Deep Thoughts. Strom too heavy for me at zero speeds. Much research, visited my reliable local dealer to buy a BMW F800R, found I could barely get my feet on the high pegs so ended up going through the rest of his stock looking and they sent me out on a Honda CB500X. This was not on my radar, cheapo 500, no way. I was gob smacked. It fitted me like it was made to measure and it felt like a 125 on steroids, light as a feather to throw around but quick enough in the real world. So pick up a new one on the 12th. Now still full of two wheeled enthusiasm.

Went out for a ride on the bike last night up to the memorial bell. Forgot the name. Must of been 70 bikes in a convoy. Just set off and a police car came flying past all blues and twos we all thought we was in for a bollard in but they had a better idea and escorted us all there.Rory got arrested. Oh and it rained today Brian but only for 5 minutes so now sat in the sun again having a beer.

I was only teasing. Looks like a nice bike.

I thought I would try a bike about 5 years ago and did my CBT.

I then bought a Honda Varadero 125 but it was too heavy for me if I'm honest. I did my CBT on a CB125 which was really light.
The truth hit me when I nearly dropped it at low speed and nearly killed myself holding it up.
Gutted I was.

Exactly why I've dumped the V-Strom which is 100kg heavier. It's not just the weight it's where the centre of gravity is, in your case high but a scooter in very low.

Luck was not on your side, but you are never too old try and find a more suitable bike.

Brilliant time had by all as you can see the weather was amazing between 36 & 41 everyday in 8 days just an hours rain on Saturday evening even experienced our first earthquake
The total mileage for me was 2363 with some amazing riding in the mountain passes around Garda even did a bit of off road which Edgy loved ;)
Plenty of beer drunk and pasta eaten.

Famous five adventure

Just a few lines to outline the great little sajourn by the motley crew. Meeting at Folkestone we soon banished the grey wet weather of the UK for probably the warmest sunniest week we have had all year.
During the next couple of days we crossed several borders on to the stunningly beautiful mountainous region of the Dolomites.
There, we met dozens of other riders from all reaches of the Brussels empire, on their wonderfully diverse and fascinating steeds.
Being likeminded we spent hours reapraising how to sort out mankinds problems while consuming enormous amounts of locally produced foods and golden nectar.
Daily we climbed on our trusty steeds, either as small groups or large convoys, to traverse the relentless Tourante through mountainous passes often to unexpectedly find local communes hanging on the rocky hill sides over stunningly scenic lakes.
The natives we extremely friendly welcoming us with their local produce and more golden nectar. One of the ride outs included a massive bell in a moving tribute to the worlds war fallen.
Too soon the time came to take our leave of new and old friends and retrace our tracks across the mountains, with promises made to return again for further adventures and more daring do.
