Booked tunnel friday 10th December,returning Tuesday 14th December, purpose to visit best christmas markets any sugestions in such a short trip ?

Did an Xmas Market Cruise last December on Fred Olsen. Copenhagen cancelled 'cos of Climate Conference so went to Aarhus instead, then Hamburg - nothing special - and Amsterdam, nothing special there either at least in the Christmas sense.

Best we've seen is Lincoln and last year at Hyde Park, on again from 19th Dec to 4th Jan.

We went to the christmas markets in Cologne last year, it is about 4-6 hours drive from the tunnel. We got a folder that told about 12 different markets, but we only visited 3

We stayed at the Stellplatz (http://www.reisemobilhafen-koeln.de/) in Cologne and walked to the markets along the Rhine and took a tram back.

I would sugest Brugge, Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent Christmas markets in Belgium. If you wish to go into Germany you have 6 markets in Cologne, Trier which is a lovely old Roman town has a Christmas market as has Bernkastel-Kues which is probably one of the prettiest towns on the Moselle but the majority of the shops here are closed on a Sunday, all get really busy over the weekends thou as expected

I would head for Aachen first and then drive down to Monschau. It is about four hours drive to either and both are full of character and charm, especially Monschau which is an idyllic town in a beautiful setting.

and the site is about 20 minutes walk from the market.

Monschau is 40 minutes drive from Aachen. It has has a small Stellplatze on Biesweg (P2) but there are various parking places throughout the town. It is worth getting there early!

We have visited the Christmas Markets at Valkenburgh on several occasions and would recommend it every time.

Have stayed at http://www.campingdendriesch.nl which is situated right in the centre about 5 minutes walk from the caves and the Town Centre.

The Town looks really Christmas'y with baby trees and lots of white twinkling lights. You might be lucky and get some snow, we did 1 year and it really made it for us.

Takes about 4 - 6 hours from Dunkerque depending on how many stops you make.

weve done valkenburgh and cologne last year and brussels the year before, cologne is far better because there are a few differant type of market and a tourist train that takes you around them all, the bottom cave was the best out of the 2 at valkenburgh but not worth the trip we thought, we are going to have another look at brussels this year (via disney land) because we went on a coach trip before and never had a good look around.
