I want to fit either reversing sensors or a camera.

I noticed some sensors are available on e-bay for around £20 upwards.
Does anyone know if they are any good? Has anyone fitted these?

I want to fit either reversing sensors

I got some for under £30 from Maplin, gives a distance reading and just *works*.

This looks to be a later version:

I have used two different types both were bought for under £20 and I found them to be extremely accurate but be aware they do not like chain link fences and the sensors need to be fitted at exactly the right height, also something worth bearing in mind is the lenght of the link cables as most are designed for cars.

thats one advantage of a bleeper/buzzer only system.....the bleeper can be fitted anywhere...mines behind the rear seat, powered fron the reverse lights, and is loud enough to be heard anywhere.

it would still be heard in the very back of the kontiki. :thumb:

I have fitted plenty of reversing sensors over the last nine years both cheapy ones and more expensive systems from the likes of Waeco and Laserline. Now I only fit the Laserline units as I had far too many failures with cheapy units and problems getting replacement items.

Overall my preference is for a good quality camera system, sensors are OK but you can't deny what you can see and sensors can give false readings.

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
parking sensors

We have a system already fitted but seems to be a tad unreliable, so will be going for that Maplin kit, bugger another job to do.
