For the first time, met a fellow Chausson Welcome 72 owner on site at Oswestry on Friday. We compared notes, and lo and behold, are suffering the same type of problems with the washroom.

The washroom itself is closed off from the rest of the vehicle by a plastic "tambour" type door, interlocking strips that slide on a guide and follow the contour of the washroom when opened. Ours never fitted square to the opening from new, and slide open and shut under braking and acceleration. On the morning that I was to return it to the dealers for repair, the door had actually fallen in.

The other owner's door fitted square, but he was being driven to distraction by the sliding when being driven.

The other issue was the folding acrylic screens for the shower area. We both suffered exactly the same problem. They are secured when not in use by straps fitted by a "press stud" type arrangement. This is not strong enough, and detaches in transit, and mine actually came off its top runner and crashed into the wall opposite, leaving a nasty dent.

Poor designs by Chausson indeed. Has anyone found a solution to either problem, or have any suggestions?

Is this a case where the judicious application of a bit of velcro might solve the press-stud problem?

Thanks for the suggestion. Will bear in mind if an "official" solution is not forthcoming. In fact, on our week away, to preserve some semblence of dignity, used a blanket to cover the washroom entrance fixed with velcro.

hi Steve
we had a similar problem with the shower screen on our first outing and resorted to removing it altogether as we never use the shower in the van, prefering to use the ones on site.
The concertina door didn't fit square either but we put a small plastic shim beneath the back end and that cured it.Never had it come open whilst travelling.
