Hello, we have the above van and our leisure battery is fitted under the floor in the rear garage/storage area. Has anyone with the same van fitted a second leisure battery and if so where. Any advice or information greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Allan

Always, if possible, fit it adjacent to the existing battery.

Looks like not too many of our van type around so can anyone recommend someone preferably in the Huddersfield area who could fit a second leisure battery for us safely and secure.
Thanks in advance for any reply

Hi, we have one and fitted a second battery, fitted in a battery box against back wall, cables looped through side of existing battery box, under van and up through bottom of new box. Ran cables in split convolute tubing for extra protection. Put vent tube through bottom of box to vent. Great van by the way.

Thanks Frankie that is helpful but we have a bike rack in ours and not to much floor space available. I will get the tape measure out and do some measuring but think it will be too tight.
Thanks again
Allan

Just a thought to consider. I know fitting a second leisure battery is popular amongst motorhomers, but do you really need one?

Everybody uses their vans differently and also consume different amounts of 12volt energy. But unless you want to park up for days on end in the wilds without moving the van, it might not be necessary. Admittedly, off-grid in the winter you need to be moving the van fairly frequently to keep the battery topped-up because of the blown air heating.

We've only got the original standard battery in our van and have done plenty of wilding - winter and summer - without any difficulty. Battery rarely/never gets into the amber zone on the meter. But we do tend to be fairly frugal with the power if away from a hook-up.

Just a thought - but good luck whatever you decide. And enjoy your van. :thumb:

On and off for many years.
We are looking to buy a Flash 05 or Welcome WS which also have a single leisure battery. We are going to see how things go and if necessary we will fit a battery with more umph as thee is room for a larger capacity battery in the existing housing - but not enough for a second battery.

Thanks to everyone for your help and advice, very useful. We are going to the Peterborough meet later this month with our one leisure battery, electrically operated bed and motorised bike rack. so it will be fully tested during our three night stay and we will certainly find out if we really need a second leisure battery there. We will not be off hook up usually for more than two nights.
Hope to see you there, Allan
