We are now in honfluer , Aire here not full but getting there, not many Brits ,no funsters , St Valery last night, rammed, we are just taking a steady run down towards Spain,no idea where we will end up.
funny how people have different opinions about France and where the news comes from ,we have been here three days and genuinely have not seen an immigrant or any police.
WiFi a bit iffy last night , but plenty 3 here.
Weather hot and sunny, although forcast rain here tomorrow, but hope to be further south and miss it tomorrow.

Be careful when leaving Bonnevalle as that is where a French lady driver hit us down the side of our brand new Auto Sleeper 2 years ago.

We got out of bonnevalle ok, this is what it was like this morning at the small market, we are now in saumur a bit further south, large aire 7 euros, no where near the town though, have to travel in tomorrow, good old 3 data sim working a treat even though the 3 phone sim in the phone has no signal at all

Looking lovely and relaxed!and the weather looks great.
we stayed at Saumur outside on the aire and cycled in ( looks like it was an old municipal site and the cycle track was along the river, a restaurant opposite the entrance) the photo on my avatar is Saumer two years ago.

We have seen something we have Never seen before in 6 years touring France in September, two Aires full up in angoulins Sur mer , so traveled another ten miles to port des barques, plenty room here, lot better than it says in All the Aires, 8 Euro's.

Don't know who does the write-up in all the Aires but they certainly want to review this one, says uninspiring don't know what they want, sea about 200 yards away, sandy beach , enclosed seawater pool, cafes , boule's, and about ten vans on here,.just be room for 100, all hard standings level.

Shush! I find some fabulous empty Aires, simply because they either aren't in the 'All The Aires' book or the review is poor. Don't tell anyone . . .

Best of it is , the ones that were packed out like. Sardines in a can hadn't got anything like here

Port des Barques is lovely, can't imagine why the Aires book calls it uninspiring. And the beauty of it is the beach, small but perfectly formed, and loads of well maintained grass and trees. After seeing the way vans were squashed in like sardines at Angoulins this is a real find.

I've often found aires we like getting poor reviews, and visa versa .. different folks have different preferences .. I prefer remote to being packed in like sardines like we were in Honfluer.. other people rave about it

Yeah I'll give it remote, it's on a piece of land that sticks out a bit and we are on the end of it, but it is a nature reserve, and yesterday there were quite a few French in cars enjoying the sea but by 6 o clock they had all gone , no one about today.
