Just got back from Chard, Somerset after 4 days, it was a nice break only rained the one night. Lyme RFegis I loved and their is a car park, long lenghts for Motor Homes and you can stay all night for the pricely sum of 40 p, if you want to. There was a guy on there who had been there for 2 weeks. He was using a jenny for his electric. Nice one!

hmmm yes, but it's folk like that get motorhomers a bad reputation and do the genuine one night wild campers no favours .. :Doh:

Yes. West Dorset Council is open minded enough to make specific provision for motorhome parking throughout its area and motorhomes are specifically mentioned in its parking leaflets.

However, because of complaints of abuse by some motorhome drivers, the council was left with no option but to ban motorhomes from the car park at West Bexington completely (day time as well as night time).

It is to be hoped that the actions of a few do not result in further restrictions for similar reasons.
