The ceiling of my 2002 Chausson Welcome 50 is looking very tired. I had a leak three years ago which caused some discolouration around the roof light due to mildew. The main problem though, is that the coating of the roof board is flaking. They are very tiny flakes much like dandruff. I can only assume that this was a very thin painted layer that has now just given up and dried out with age. The base material seems to be a thin hardboard. Has anyone else experienced this type of deterioration, and what can I do to refurbish the ceiling? I thought about applying a very thin paper, but to do a neat job the cupboards would need to be removed.
