The alarm when activated locks the cab doors and flashes the indicators, but doesn't activate the alarm and the system beeps 3 times. Any ideas before I book it in with our local dealer?
Thanks. PS This has happened before, something to do with the sensors I think.

I've a cat 1 alarm , what you describe is how mine is working . How can you tell the alarm is not set ? I thought if it beeped the alarm was set( sorry I might sound bit thick) but I need to know that my alarm is working .

Lock your van using the alarm, then open it using just the key
If the alarm was set it will go off when you open, also to test internal sensors ether leave a dog in the van and set the alarm or leave the window slightly open and poke a stick in when set, then it should also go off

Cat 1 alarm faulty

Tkanks for all the replies. I don't know the make of the alarm, only that it is a Cat 1 fitted by the previous owner. When the alarm is set and the doors locked the alarm does not go off when the doors are opened. But it does beep 3 times.

You really don't know what make of alarm you have!
Does it not say on the key fob?
Do you have a little over ride keypad inside the cab area

Alarm not Arming, door open?

I had a similar problem with mt Sigma a couple of years back.
It turned out to be the sensor on one of the side hatches;

I disconnectd the wires and the alarm worked perfectly on all the rest of the doors etc. Found the right one by trial and error.

Good luck

I've tried the alarm again. It beeps 3 times and then goes off after being activated without any interference from me. Any ideas.

Reason I aksed is that i have extensive knowledge of Sigma alarms but unfortunately not Autowatch
Have you tried the manual, if you don't have one then you can download from from their site

Thanks for all the advice. I've emailed Autowatch in NZ and I'll try isolating the sensors.
