Hi All,

Any ideas why my burner wont stay lit on a cascade 2 water heater. i`ve cleaned the burner and flame sensor but it still the same, it fires up no problem and then times out and shuts down. Its not sensing the flame for some reason.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Either the flame is not hitting the flame failure detector (flame diverted by dirt) or the FFD is faulty.

I would do another clean and use a small bottle brush in the burner to make sure the gas has free flow. If you feel confident you could remove the burner to inspect the inside.

However, I have checked up on possible repairers just in case it helps.

I had very good service from Gary at http://www.arcsystems.biz/, based in Nottinghamshire, a couple of years ago. I don't know if he is still active but the link from his site takes you to a relevant page of Preloved. The posts on there are quite old so I looked at the other end of the list and buried on page 202 I found this link to another repairer.

the thermocouple (flame sensor) is the most likely fault as already said.
should be in the middle of the blue flame.
i got a replacement from the guy mentioned above quite some time ago and it fixed the problem.
