Hello peeps, After last winters trip bouncing all over Spain, Portugal and Morocco this year I fancy a but more of a settled time.
Would anyone be as kind to suggest any campsites close to a coastal town or at least with a bus link to the town. Dont need loads of facilities, shower n toilet is all really. On a budget and don't want to spend loads as I can get a long term apartment for €300 per month with leccy n gas costing €50 a month. I'm after anywhere near the coast between Alicante and Fuengirola. Heard lots if good things about Murcia and Almera.
Ferry booked for 9th November so will be down on the coast a couple weeks later. Hope to meet up with some of you guys and gals this year as didn't see many last year but I was mostly off the beaten track with one night stops.

Doesn't have to have sea views, but near the coast would be fine. I was told of one near Fuengirola that worked out at €5 a night (last winter). I stopped on one in Portugal that was €3 a night for long termers, (the ones with the plant pots all around) but can't remember where it was without my map.

If you want a full campsite you're going to be paying €15 a night minimum. However lots of aires in Spain and Portugal that are MUCH cheaper, have all you need (but probably not leccy) and are nicely situated. Portimao comes to mind - €2 a night plus €2 for 100 ltrs water. Have also stayed at a couple of "private aires", sort of very basic campsites - La Marina (Spain) comes to mind €10 per night (cheaper for long-term) if I remember correctly.

Hi geegee we've booked camping Mar azul at Balerma, Almeria for Xmas and new year, it's practically on the beach, all facilities and good reviews, 17€ a night for 11 nights but would be cheaper for longer stay and we don't have an ACSI card. Worth a look at their website for long term deals?

Thanks all. As I said I don't really need all the facilities. Got 160w of solar and a 230ah battery bank which done me fine all last winter as I'm not a huge user of leccy. However as we all know it's a nice option to have in case of a prolonged cloudy spell. A shower is all I really need. I'll have a look for a basic campsite.
