Please can anyone advise us on what is the best way to look after a leisure battery. We have been advised by a mechanic that if you use hook up most of the time and not really using leisure battery , then he said its best to every so often just use 12 v and leave lights etc on and drain battery right down and then recharge. His opinion is that making the battery work gives you longer life out of it. Is this true or not? We are a bit confused about it. Thank you for any advise you can give us

in my opinion a battery should be kept fully charged as much as possible.

if you arent on hookup then recharge as soon as possible.

i know its constructed differently, but take a car battery.....its being charged as soon as you start the engine and remains on charge until you turn the engine off.
