We have 2 fitted, 1 in the living area and 1 in the top bunk sleeping alcove. Better safe than sorry.

I fitted one into our previous van but it was left there when the van was wrecked.

Our current van had neither smoke nor CO alarm when we bought it so I got one of These (reference is just one I found using Google, they are available from several places).

They are simple to fit and cheap as chips these days so no excuse for not having one. Any of the leading brands should be OK.

We got ours recently from Asda's, and have to say already it has saved us from a fete worse than! Seriously... Nobody should be without them.
