That was a remarkably polite reply for a grumpy old git

You'll be downgraded from grumpy to miserable if you're not careful.

And to ensure my continuing status - of course people have stayed there, it's a camp site for goodness sake.

My apologies for the lack of grumpiness I will endeavour to return to my grumpy status forthwith.

Oh and thank you for your overwhelmingly informative reply it was most helpfull

We nearly stayed there last summer but changed our minds and went to York instead. Does that help?

We stayed there earlier this year. There is a park & ride about 10/15 minutes walk away on the other side of the A1. Doesn't run on Sundays but there is a good bus service into Durham (or Sunderland the other way) everyday which stops near the Park & Ride.
Also, it is walkable if you are feeling energetic.
Wardens will give you all the info you need they are very helpful.

It's a local CC site for me & I rate it quite highly. The bus stop to Durham is on the other side of a quite fast road, so care when crossing, of you could walk the 3 miles into Durham & get the bus back. You will not get your motorhome parked in Durham .
