I am trying to book this site for our Alicante trip. We get off the ferry in Santander and then plan to run to Pamplona for the first night then on the Zaragoza for the 2nd night.

The site looks ok from reviews on Camper connect so thought it would be a good aim to point.

But when I go to the booking page as it loads I can see the orange continue tab flash up next to select your dates but it then vanishes. Even after I put the date I want it it does not reappear and there is no way to hit continue.

Tried Safari and Firefox browsers and makes no difference? Site issue? Do you think I could just rock up to a site like that and treat it like a French aire? if there is room park up etc or does it look like i'd 100% have to have a booking?

Finally theres lots of info on French airs and I expect no issues on the way back to the UK through France finding one to stay at. Is it as easy in Spain? I have not booked any yet. Just got the Ferry and Alicante sorted. Am I likely to come unstuck looking to park up in Spain?

Thanks.
Not long now :)

Just quickly looking through I believe that they dont open until Easter perhaps this is why it will not allow you to book?

I wondered that. Camper Connect says they are open all year but that could be an error I guess. Ill try a later date to see if that works.

Unless you REALLY need a site I just find that campsite poor value..
Windy, dusty, not cheap... :(
We used it in the early days, in fact one of the first users the month it opened..
Prefer now to just use a stop over or aire down on the A23..

A little way south is Carinena.
We use the truck stop there, park around the back and no one bothers you. But they also have an aire just in the village.

This is a good source for Spanish aires.. Free inland village ones are coming online all the time but coastal ones tend to be private and you can sometimes pay almost as much as a campsite on some..

Ive just done a little search on searchforsites.co.uk and there doesnt appear to be a campsite open all year however there are 3 stop overs.

Thinking we should just drive until we have almost had enough then look where we are and start pulling up locations on the app.

Thankfully work have furnished me with a 4G iPad Air with free global data :)

Recon that will come in usfull on this trip.

Why not buy the full version of Camper contact (about £6.00) which you can use off line.

A lot will also depend on when you are going..
That area can have some good and bad weather,,
Snow, strong winds and in summer it was even to hot for my Grandkids to play outside at McDonalds.. Unheard of !! :Eeek:

ACSI is brilliant especially the off line maps....sites are inspected so usually to a reasonable standard....filters enables searches for all year round or themed campsites.

We stayed at carinena last night 30 mins outside zaragoza and we're now at the parque d'attractions stop in zaragoza, both on camper contact, both ideal for overnight stops.

I've been looking for an overnight stop near Zaragoza for our trip next week.
Looking on CamperContact none of them look very appealing. Don't want to be in a truck stop with noise all night and one of the aires sounds very dodgy with a history of cars and motorhomes being broken into.

Not the best place to stop....there is a camp site there but we'VE avoided it like the plague as it has poor reviews...and it is a grim area. At Mont blanc on the way toward Barcelona there is a good campsite...big but with excellent facilities....or if you're heading toward Valencia there is a campsite near Calatayud...good facilities...but expensive....and an excellent doctors in the village...my OH had a really nasty insect bite causing his arm to swell alarmingly...he dropped in to the doctor in the village and received excellent treatment free...brilliant:D
