Does anyone know a method of managing to get windscreen camera suckers to stay up?
The one for our camera has one of those "over centre" leavers and initially seems to work okay.
But after a few days it has fallen off- even without the camera attached.
I mount it just behind the main centre mirror.

Betterwear have in their catalogue a device called a dashboard satellite navigation holder which appears to be a circular weighted anti skid device which contours to the shape of the dashboard.
It says it utilises the suction mount which, from the picture, seems to sit in the middle of this ring.
I wonder if anyone has tried one of these and if it could be used for a camera- albeit sighted lower down than normal.

I notice that some lorry drivers put their cameras at the centre of the bottom of the windscreen.
Thanks

I have had a camera in the screen of my car for 18months and all I did was to lick the sucker and then pull the lever over, but in my van I use a " dash pad" and put the camera on that as the camera is then out of my view , the pad hasn't moved since I put it on the dash

Once mine is up, it stays up till I decide to remove it.
Make sure the place where you want to put it is grease free and clean, then dampen your cup and go for it.

My dash cam has been up for almost 3 years without falling off.
The length of time it stays up depends on the quality of your sucker.

Temperature goes up and the liquid dries out then it leaks air so the sucker drops off, dot of superglue will fix it. I SAID DOT.

(y) Mine seems to stay up well, never tried that viagra on it.

Would it dribble on the screen?

I do wash/wipe it regularly tho.

You need to wet the sucker, preferably with spit as its a bit thicker than water, and make sure the screen is clean and grease/polish free.

Also, check the glass behind the mirror as many screens now have a pattern embossed around the mirror area, usually a black mesh effect, and the sucker wont stick to that as it isnt flat.

My satnav mount has been on the screen for the last year or so.

Make sure the screen is clean first, wipe over it with meths or alcohol wipes, make sure the sucker is clean and grease free and then try again with a little moisture on the sucker.
