Anyone thinking of going to Canada might be interested in this which has just been posted on a genealogy forum (in an off-topic section). The poster lives in Ontario so I don't know whether it is a national or provincial law.

We have a new "street racing" law...
If you are clocked 50km over the posted speed limit you not only get a HUGE ticket, the car you are driving (doesn't matter if its your parent's, your mother-in-law's , your bosses, a rental...etc) is impounded for one week right there on the spot and you loose your license on the spot. It does not matter who you are.
Recently a visitor from Germany was clocked doing 160 km on a stretch road posted at 80km. This stretch is narrow and rough so I don't know how he kept the car on the road! Haven't yet heard how he made out when he had to return for his court case. Autobaun, anyone?

Hi
Thanks for the info---------we should be there in 2--3 weeks-----we SHOULD be safe !!! we found our best speed for fuel consumption is 60 mph-----unless we miss a limit sign (easy to do here) we are sticking to ALL speed limits !!!!
