Hi all, Any of you experienced Spanish winter travellers spent some time over the Christmas New Year holiday in the Cabopino campsite near Marbella. We are heading down to the region for three weeks covering the Christmas/New Year holidays so looking for some good advice on campsites along that stretch of coast. We have been following a few blogs and it appears that this site next to the small port is popular. Also any past or coming Christmas visitors able to tell us if the Restaurants in the Port open on the christmas day for celebratory luncheon. We appreciate that meeting up with others at the site is probable :Smile:but just a little bit of help would be gratefully received.

We are just back from camping Los Jarales in Cala Honda about two miles from Cabo Pino.we stayed there for a month special rates for over thirty days. The campsite is basic but good, just at the bus top for marbella and Fuengirola at the door.A fantastic mercadona supermarket at the gate with fantastic fish counter.

Capo Pino a nice site but not very good for walking or cycling. Very very busy main road just outside the site. Decent bus service. If you walk over main road there is a small beach and a Chinese. Thats about it. BUSBY::bigsmile:

Not For Us

Stayed in 2010, too much tree cover for winter, nowhere to walk except for the small harbour, not a nice place to be if you get torrential rain due to being on a hillside with red sandy soil. Plus sides are the good bus service, the swimming pool is OKish!!l and the proximity to Marbella/Puerto Banus.
Not sure about what is available for Christmas or New Year.
