Greetings funsters and a very happy new year to you all.

Am contemplating a trip to Italy in a few months and wondered if anyone has any experience of Campsites in Rome.

I would really appreciate any guidance. Thanks a lot.

Camping Tiber

When we stayed in Rome we used the Camping Tiber site. (http://www.campingtiber.com/)

We chose it as it provides a shuttle bus to the nearest Metro station with direct trains to the centre of the city. It also provides electric hook up, internet access, a pool and a bar / buffet (I'm told all of these are essentials when away as a family with teenagers)

The site is fairly large and has some static vans so won't be to everyone's taste but as a family it worked well for us.

I hope this helps

We stayed at Flamingo Village, page 565 in the camping cheque book. Very continent for metro and a cycle track into Rome from the site.
The toilet block there is one of the best we have seen like a 4 star hotel.
