hi everyone we normally go abroad but want to try England this year, we are in Southampton looking for a site within a mile or 2 of a town we have 2 dogs we do not want to travel more than 200 miles. Don't want swimming pool or club house. Do want smallish but also want hook up. Anyone able to help? Many thanks. John and Kathy

Chichester CCC site is good. Less than 60 on site with gate security overnight. Bus stop outside or near train station too.

We stayed overnight at Morn Hill CC site near Winchester. Quite a nice site, about 30 minute drive from Southampton Docks

We are in Fareham and we sometimes go to a site just outside Swanage, nice little site with bar and restaurant, you can catch the Steam train into Swanage or the other way to Corfe Castle. Can't find the phone number right now. Google camp sites Swanage.

The other site we like is Birchwood touring park near Wareham. Nice site, kids play park, lots of open space. They have a fast food van at site gates.

You don't need to travel far from Southampton to some nice sites, there are loads in the New Forest, Red Shoot is okay but probably a bit pricey now.

Thanks everyone for the replies, we have now found an adults only site near Seaton Devon. Not been to this part of Devon for years the site looks very good 9/10 from 64 reviews and a good price too, under £21 per night with H U 2 dogs a utility tent on a fully serviced pitch. Its a bit more traveling than we wanted but a lot less than France of Spain where we normally go. So as long as the weather hold we should have a great time:)
