Hi all dose anyone know how long it's should take to change a cam belt on the decato 2.8

Depends how good the mechanic is and if its fixed price or hourly rate.

Belt and pulley's only.....1 to 2 hours
As above plus water pump....a bit longer.

its a fixed price i took the van in yesterday afternoon its still not ready!!

I guess it depends how busy the garage is.
They may have had problems with another, or even your, vehicle and knocked the schedule back.

Took the place I take mine to about 2 hrs just to do water pump it was seized in

just got the van back fitted new cam belt there suppiers sent the wrong belt out to them so needed to re-order another one ive just had a look at the old belt & it was all cracking with age the van only has 44k on the clock on a 1999 hymer so im glad i got it done

If that's it's first belt change then you were very lucky.

Only around half the mileage interval of 80000 miles but 3-1/2 times the 5 year time interval.
