just booked eurotunnel on Xmas day for 3 days in Calais area. Bit of stealth camping in new transit van

Three days in Calais in Winter doesn't sound like much fun. I think I'd nip to Bruges for a day. Buy a nice beer glass to make the beer taste nice (it does anyway).
