Hi
We have a new Autotrail Tracker. The driver and passenger front side exits are a little high. Does anyone know where I can source a pair of side steps to be fitted for the cab.
Regards
Ron

Hi.
Depending on your mobility/balance,a piece of metal suspended below the step on two pieces of supple wire cable ? The idea being, that in the event of high curb or filling station fuel island curb catching it,it will fold out of the way,not rip the step off if it were made of a fixed step add on.
Just a thought, they used to fit them on lorries a while back,it was a good idea, the BAD idea, was a step that came out as the cab dor opened,on a narrow, high edged weighbridge, they would block the door, trapping you in the cab......... Sledge hammer or gas axe cured that,LOL

We simply use a Ā£5 plastic, folding step from IKEA with a piece of string attached. Lower it from the cab and step out. When getting in use step then haul it in. It stows in the door pocket quite neatly.

Heath Robinson(ish) but works well.

Incidentally we use it as my wife has had both knees replaced.

By all accounts Autocruise fitted them as standard on some of the coach builts so that is why it doesn't appear to have a makers mark on them

Do a search on Ebay for tractor foot plate - you might find something on there that could be fixed on the side of the cab below the door sill?

No wonder it doesn't come up on searches though ... they really need to improve their website!!!! No picture so haven't got a clue what they look like and no price ... I wonder if anyone has ever bought these???

I clicked on their homepage where they are advertising the Phantom Tracker and they say:

PHANTOM TRACKER (24/7 monitoring) Cat. 6 Approved

The monitoring cost is equivalent to Ā£1.92 per week which is less than a cup of coffee.

What is this obsession with bl**dy expensive coffee!!!!!!

I fitted a set of running boards/steps on my transit custom last year. The design and fittings would easily lend themselves to being shortened and fitting at cab doors

On and off for many years.
I got ours from here:

I know they are for Ducato base vehicles but if you contact the manufacturer he may have other patterns.

Yes, the Augusta has them fitted as standard. A neighbour damaged one of mine and I was quoted over Ā£250 for a replacement ten years ago. I straightened it out.
