We would like to join some C&CC rallies, in either 2016 or 2017. We would prefer to go a bit later in the year than the majority, say April - June

The rally at Marjal seems to be the only one that goes on until June, all the others end mid April

Has anyone been there at the end of May? Is there still plenty going on or does it taper off and go a bit dead?

We've been on that rally a couple of times...lots of pitches available after late February....folk are going home / moving on then. You'd be better off contacting the C&CC to check on the organised activities for later on at the rally...maybe someone on the rally can advise ?

Vast majority of motorhomer's go over for the winter sun Oct - March.
Hence why the rallies tend to be at those times.
Cant comment on C&CC as not members.

There are always people travelling about and remember you can always post on FUN and see if any others are around the area..

    Hi
Sorry can't help with that time of year only done the earlier part three times. nice site a bit remote . there is a new rally room and site at the bottom right of the camp for this year (that's what they said) if you want a car hire phone 0034 680 665 583 or 0034 695 176 487. older cars with a few bang's so no bother parking up etc and cheap around 10 euros a day they bring and collect. plenty to do in the area with transport. Pete

We wandered into a C&CC rally in France in June, just pulled onto a site where they were having a Christmas themed rally. We had to pass the marshall's to get to our pitch and explained we were just on our own. No problem, join in if you want, they were absolutely great. Met some really nice people, so much so we have booked up to call into 2 rallies this summer.

That sounds a backwards move, from a nice seaside location to nowhere.

Was speaking to some ex- Marjal'ians on a nearby site who said that Marjal was 'To Busy' these days with entertainment. [IMG] I mean just because the site puts on entertainment you don't have to go.

    Hi Brian
Yes can't understand it this year 10 rallies in total presentations and a party with the owners and the local mayor then no more rally. Pete

Ps if the rally is slow the bar puts on some good entertainment and decent food.

Is it money ? If they can fill the place at full rates then no discount rallies needed. That is assuming rallies get a discounts. Or do rallies leave the place part empty ? Who knows.

We have not been there after the rally finished but other say it soon fills up. It must have been money the rally had over 60 vans there for around 8 weeks so a lot of money to give up. It was more like the C & CC not agreeing new terms but I will never know. We attended the last 7 or 8 .We are still going next year so we are ok with that. nice site and area. Pete

were on Bonttera at the moment with the motor caravaners club rally about 70 vans all told over Christmas and new year so rallies still going on. Perhaps the camping and caravaning club adding a 75 pound surcharge if you dont book a ferry with them will dent the amount of ralliers attending.

Hi Jeff yes £75 a fiddle. what we did was book the out ferry ourselves so has to be sure there was room on the ferry and the return with the club so no extra charge of the £75 . I don't think this had any thing to do with the rally ending has this year it was still full all the time. it must have been a breakdown in price negotiations with Bonterra. enjoy Christmas and new year in the sun. Pete

    Hi Busby
Yes that was my point the rallies are still full so the £75 is not the reason Bonterra is finished. we are doing La Torreta and Bonterra next year not bothering with the rallies. Pete

    Now on Bonterra.

It's full bar a few of The Poor People's pitches at the top where we are at ACSI prices. OK for a few nights but too close to the main road, I have difficulty sleeping with the traffic noise.

The WiFi is a disgrace. Useless. Good signal strength but no bandwidth and the internet comes and goes. Type in a Google search and nothing happens for a good minute.

Well - if Bob and Lynn are marshalls, Pete - they'll have no trouble filling the rally wherever it is.
