Since 2011 therefore I'm not a newbie anymore
Hi,

Just bought our first Motorhome, a new 2011 Burstner Nexo T660 on a Fiat 130hp chassis.

looking at alarms and trying to find out what type of imobiliser that Fiat has fittied to the cab/engine and whether I need to consider upgrading so I can work out spec for the system that I will end up getting fitted.

Can anyone help me with the thatcham grding for this vehicle.

Cheers and thanks

Hi Bob, the Fiat immobiliser is to Thatcham standard. Thatcham cat 2 covers immobilisers, cat1 is alarms so the Burstner will be cat 2 certified. What you will need is a cat2-1 upgrade.

Ideally any alarm you have installed would integrate with the base vehicle CAN BUS system, a Laserline 670T is just one example of such a system.
