This year’s trip will hopefully be a three week stint in the Burgundy region kicking off end of June always assuming the weather is half decent of course.

I’ve never been to the region before so it would be great if anyone has some tips for ‘must see’ places or routes. We will be using a mix of Aires , Municipals and Campsites.

Thanks in advance.

Always chill the white, red best at room temperature or just slightly under.

Beaune is definitely a town worth visiting. The municipal is good but fairly crowded and there is an aire slightly further out of town. It's on a car park next to a busy road so my preference is the municipal.
The vineyards are on a somewhat industrial scale but still pleasant to walk through. The village of Volnay just south west of Beaune is a quiet backwater and produces some excellent red. If you are tempted to stop at Vosne-Romanée just north of Beaune and even more tempted by the wine, make sure you have boosted your credit card limit before leaving the UK. Enjoy the trip.

Beaune is certainly lovely but is full of tourists. Burgundy has 4 regions and we have a second home in Nievre. If you like rolling hills, lakes, canals and excellent food, give it a try.
There are fabulous old medieval towns, places of pilgrimage such as Vezelay and wonderful wine towns like St Cere (strictly not Burgundy but very close). Hardly any traffic, lots of aires some with free electric (Chateau en Bazoir port) never had a problem getting a spot. Everyone rushes off to Cote d' Or but don't forget the other regions.

We greatly enjoyed le Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune which is a few miles from Beaune. A great collection of Abarth sports cars, motorbikes and fighter planes.

We stayed the night at the aire in Beaune.
