We have a Truma C6002 combi in our van. Recently it has started to make some strange bumping noises after it's been operating on space heating for a short time. The noise lasts for about 5 or 10 seconds then goes away and may return after a few more minutes. It doesn't seem to stop the thing working.
Any ideas what this is and what I should do about it?

That'll be the borrower's stoking the boiler.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Hopefully someone with a more sensible answer will be along in no time.

Try draining the boiler then refilling.
It MAY be the expansion air space in the boiler has been replaced with water.
It needs the expansion space for the hot water to, well, expand.
If it has filled with water the expanded water has nowhere to go so pops the overpressure valve then it closes and repeats again.

Cheers Pappajohn, sounds like a very likely scenario. I'll try that for now. But if anyone else has anything to suggest......

May be the fan bearings sending warning signals.

Is is WHAP WHAP WHAP very quickly ?

Our does occasionally, it's failing to ignite. It seems to be when the leisure battery gets low. We had it the other night for the first time for ages. I turned off the on and no problem again. A few years ago after the first time we took to local dealer who charged £30 to say "nothing wrong".

@Gromett had the same problem a few years ago.

Thanks for all replies, even the silly ones. As for Hilldweller and Kev1 - that was exactly what I wanted to avoid! And thanks for the kind offer Kev, but I'll leave it for now.
