Bump? (1 Viewer)

I'm sure that there will be a simple answere....
Why do some replies simply say "Bump"?

to 'bump' them back up to the top of the list

bumping is against the rules on some forums..

Default sort order is reverse Chronological, it stops posts slipping off the bottom of the page

Bumps are particularly good if you have asked a quesiton and haven't had a reply. If you still need the answer, bumping the post puts it at the top of the page again so more people might see it.
