There is so much negative press about our yoof of today.. seldom do we see news about the good ones.. so I thought this worth posting ...

Last night we took the Sea Scouts to visit a small boat yard in Woodbridge to see a lad building a traditional clinker built dinghy, part of his shipwrights's apprenticeship training..

It was great to talk to a lad learning his trade in the traditional way, using tools and skills that haven't changed much in hundreds of years ..we will revisit at intervals to see the progress.

If interested he has Facebook page with some photos .. The Dinghy Project

I think there are more good youngsters out there than the bad ones we here about.

But its nice to see things like this .

started when I was 11 with my parents-forgot to stop!been real one since 1980!
Bad young people always get the limelight recent a example is the chav that was appointed Kent's youth crime commissioner says a lot for the system and not much for the PCC that appointed her!

Well done that lad maybe he will join the ranks of such boat builders as Uffa Fox.
