Am afraid am the bearer of sad news today.
Just had a call from Roadrunner and sadly the big feller has died.As you can imagine RR is devastated about this and am sure you all know how much John thought of his pal.
I personally can do little to help as am in Dublin at the moment and wont be home till Thursday.

What a shame
Here he is making my 90lb German Shepherd look small. They always enjoyed playing together. When they started running around it was dangerous to be in the way, you'd get bowled over.

RIP Bruno

Hardly unexpected from what John has been posting but very sad news nonetheless. Many of us have been there more than once and it doesn't get any easier. A big hole in John's life now and let's hope he will soon come to terms with his loss. Only met Bruno once but he certainly made an impression on us at Lincoln.

Thoughts are with you John! Sorry to hear the big fella has passed.

He was a lucky lad having such a loving and devoted owner who always put him first. We all know what you meant to one another - you gave him a life many dogs never get, and for that be proud.

Big hugs.

Rest in Peace Big Fella
John i know how devasted you are to have lost Bruno from your side but he will always be in your heart. Think of all the good and funny times you shared and yes it hurts but over time you will smile as you remember things you did together.
Bruno waits at Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Bruno

The one down side to having a dog is that one day you have to part a signe that im getting old is that i have had to cross that bridge on a few ocassions the last being Barney our Boxer 10 months ago over time you will look back and have a smile on your face At present i have a Irish Setter to look after perhaps in time you could consider another friend because you obviosly love your dogs

Take care

Thank you, Dave, for letting us know the sad news.

We’ve never met Bruno or John but feel that we know them both, having been reading the posts in the last few weeks.

Many years ago when I was single I lost my saluki dog, Sharif. He had cancer and I had to make the terrible decision to have him put to sleep. I still cry when I think of it. I loved him so much.

The day after Sharif died I received a phone call from a friend that I hadn’t heard from for a few days. She said, “Val, I just had to call you as I had the most wonderful dream last night and it seemed so real. Sharif was running up a hill looking so fit and healthy as if he were young again.” I burst into tears and told her that he had died the day before.

After the phone call I got to thinking that, if there is life after death, then Sharif was showing that he was free from his pain and happy again. It gave me comfort and that’s why I want to share the story.

Val
