The Durham sale was completed on 31 August. Brownhills operate only from Newark now.
Brownhills made a decision some time ago that it wished to return to its roots and trade solely from its prestigious Newark site which sells more new and pre-owned motorhomes than any other dealership in the UK. Brownhills is delighted that Marquis is acquiring the freehold of the Durham site and taking on its existing staff. We should like to thank all our Durham staff for their past service and wish them well for the future.

Brownhills are and always have been rubbish. You have to be a fool or very very rich to deal with them.

I agree they've had some terrible press over the years, but to be honest, the last year or so, many of the reports of Brownhills have been very positive. Maybe it's because they are getting smaller, less sales = better service = less disgruntled customers moaning on the forums. Though that is a total guess, I have never set foot in one of their dealerships.

Just looked and they have an overall of 7 out of 10 on the Dealer Review site. Broken Link Removed

I tried to do a deal with them in 2008 at Newark involving a trade in. Did the deal at Heart of England at Weedon, saved £7500 and got a better van. Excellent to deal with Heart of England.

We found the staff at the Durham branch excellent we travelled to them for servicing and warranty work all the way from Pembrokeshire although a little disappointed that I didnt know until I emailed today about the change.

We did our deal with Brownhills at Durham and they were everything that one could expect.

We did however stay overnight at the Newark branch on our way down to Folkestone. Unless my work a day experiences have left me since I retired then some one urgently needs to get their finger on the button or that will not last too long.

Just my instinct and gut feeling

Spoke to them last week and they confirmed they will be looking to reopen storage. Obviously they will need to price it right to attract customers back.

I take it you can support that statement - as they sell more than any other dealer, you seem to be making a far reaching statement.

A happy Brownhills customer

No surprise at Brownhills closure. They gave all the storage customers notice
months ago. Many years ago we had a couple of dealers in the North East but now
they are falling over themselves, some will not survive. I reckon we now have a choice of over 8 within 25 square miles. I hope Marquis manage to make a go of it as they are only 3miles from a further 2 dealers. This has only got to be good for the customer with more competition but only the fittest will survive.
