we say take pont aven plymouth santander , we dont bother with cabins book a seat but sleep elsewhere on the boat.

no . take lots dried food and tinned food etc from uk. buy as little as you can in the eu,
mind some liquids are ok. beer /wine .spirits and fuel.
but just about every thing else costs more these days .
only go for the warmth and dryness .
its only a game .
avoid toll rds . stay off m,ways . go through as many villages as you can .
every village as a story to tell.
stop say hulla to the locals . smile wave .
enjoy your trip.

i find these days there is so much of the best quality foos sold up into northern europe alot of the local fruit and veg is not top quality.
mind i do admit to having lots given to me by the locals .
its about being in the right place at the right time .
swap fruit and veg for a drink etc . but the shops and markets sell poor quality.
but everyone can do as they want.
if you do see something priced ok then buy it .
at least you know you arent going to spoil the tinned or dried food.

might be living in cornwall fresh fish is great and lots veg grown round here is great as well.
could be spoiled compared to city dwellers.
