Breathable mattress cover (1 Viewer)

Hi,
Some advice please from any or all of the knowledgeable ladies or men out there...................
I have been able to source a 3" thick memoryfoam mattress topper 78" x 48" at a very reasonable price but it does not come with a breatheable mattress cover. What I would like to know is, do I need one and if so why?
I was thinking an ordinary duvet cover would suffice.

Any helpful comments would be useful to me..................
other comments would amuse other readers.

We just use an ordinary duvet cover on our memory foam topper, with no problems.
