I am with RAC Arrival scheme in conjunction with C & C C and am also going to Croatia. I rang the RAC to enquire and blow me they tell me that the Arrival scheme only covers Zone 1 which has a limit of the eastern borders of Austria, Germany, Denmark so they do not cover Croatia. Now that was a suprise as my card states Roadside, At Home and Europe !!

To get cover for Croatia you have to be less than 7 metres. If over 7 metres as we are then they cannot cover you. Blimey I went to Greece in 2013 thinking I was covered :-(

Yesterday I rang Saga who the van is insured with and they can cover me for all Europe for £96 for the year.

I am annoyed at RAC Arrival as I think they may have moved the goal posts. I've been with that scheme for 10 years.

I spoke with RAC only this week and they confirmed they only cover up to 3.5t.
The bloke I spoke to also suggested when I came to renew it was cheaper to do it through the CC. Same cover but they have a deal with CC.

CaravanGuard offer full UK and EU breakdown and recovery cover as part of the insurance. No weight restrictions - they use an HGV service.

We have just had to use RAC Commercial in Spain through Comfort. We had no real problems with the RAC. They put is up in a Hotel for 5 days while the van was in the garage. We are 4600kg and 7.21m

That's good to hear were with Comfort, only 3.5t but over 7m, proofs in the pudding, until you got a problem you don't know what service your going to get.

Yes but let's remember that I've been told by the RAC that their Arrival scheme won't cover our 7.4 m van in Croatia. That's what I'm concerned with ie I need cover for Croatia. My van is already insured with Saga until december so there's no point informing me of other insurance covers :-(

I just need to get suitable cover for my forthcoming trip.

£80-£90 not bad for peace of mind, unless you can get a better deal.

Has anyone got their breakdown cover with Saga. I rang them and the lady says they cover all sizes of motorhomes throughout Europe including Croatia for just £93 for the year.

That sounds a great deal ????
