My wife got a new knee January well healed now ready for six week tour France and Spain.Got motorhome loaded up took a while as it's a long holiday, making our way to our ferry on Friday morning 200 miles to Rosslare. .At about 150 miles couldn't get any gears in the semi auto gear box bit hairy as we were on a very busy road.We rang the AA European breakdown insurance and within an hour we were in the truck ,van on the back to Fiat garage. We thought at this stage we might still catch our ferry, not to be,the very helpful staff checked the fault with magic box and would look as if it needed a new part (he described as a robot)but as all the staff were leaving for the weekend it would be Monday before they could look at it and it may be expensive. The very helpful insurance company sent us a hire car so we are back home again. Our problem is if and when we get it fixed will we have the faith in it to continue our trip to France?

Why not? Do you mean you will never drive it to France? Once repaired the work should have a waranty & if done by a Fiat dealer then any Fiat dealer should honour the warranty, otherwise you might as well go to a cheaper garage.

Thanks Jay we are a bit skeptical but of course your right if we all thought like us people would go nowhere.Feeling a bit flat now I will be pleased when the garage get in touch to morrow to know we're we stand

Hope your MH gets back on the road before too long. Knowing you are in the AA and the service they provided would be peace of mind for me just to reschedule trip and go.
