What appears to be the problem with it please. Reason im asking is a friend had a prob with theirs and it was a worn/split/caught cable on the 5ver causing the prob, not the unit itself

problem is lack of brakes
just had new linings put on, cleaned drums and magnets
but still low braking i.e. on full power everything on full on the voyager and using manual slide i can still drive
Just going to check to see if i can hear the magnets.

I know where i can get a tokensha prodigy but the guy from Niche marketing wont sell me one, says he needs them for his stock, which i do understand. but it could be replaced within the week and i need one by tomorrow lol

Hi Rangie
Do you have the setting-up instructions/ do you know how to set it up ?
The only time the wheels locked on our old 5er was when the breakaway cable pulled out while doing a tight turn on a campsite-------i spent the next i/2 hour filling in the 2 channels in the grass (not lawn--just meadow---thank God):Doh::Doh:

Hi
The brake controller is a device fitted in a towing vehicle that --err-- controls the electric brakes on American trailers. It is really good system.

Well sundowner it seems you are not too sure yourself, can any one else have a go, is it hydraulic or electronic or mechanical, does it apply the parking brake or the running brakes or what?

the brake controller is an electronic unit that fits in the towing car
when you press the brake pedal it sends a signal to the trailer brakes telling them to apply. the brakes work via a magnet so they are electical/machanical. the more power you send the more the brakes apply.
they cannot/should not be used as an electronic handbrake
