Well I know I said I was only going to spend £3500, but you know how it is, oh look what more I could have for 4K, oh look what more I could for 4 1/2K. Yes, in the end I spent £4500, I think I did well though, it was advertised for 5k, which I thought was cheap, its in good condition, everything works and it came with a motorbike carrier (on ebay in the next few days), 2 bikes, a sat nav, tool kit etc etc. It belonged to a retired Aussie couple that are flying home next week. They did 10 countries in 2 summers.
Had a bit of a scare on the way home, Chelmsford to Newquay, when I stopped at the service station to see oil pouring from the underneath! I think it's the sump plugs not tightened (I hope), as he'd just given it an oil change and done up the square hole in the plug with a screwdriver. Obviously I didnt have anything to fit it with me, so had to stop every 75 miles to fill up with oil!
It was dark when I got home so I stuck a bucket under it until tomorrow. Enjoyed the drive though, you actually have to drive it using old fashioned driving skill instead of just floating along computer aided. It's got character is probably the most polite way to describe it. Let the fun begin !::bigsmile:
