What's the best atlas and books going to drive through France en route to Italy taking a couple of months.Cheers Mark

+1 for Michelin maps. We also have Rough Guides for most countries we visit, very informative with no punches pulled.

Consider using a Trucker's edition atlas - they contain warnings of low bridges, narrow roads etc, which can come in handy from time to time.
