Our van has got a good pair of speakers wired in but no radio/cd, etc.
We have decided to put in a Bluetooth Receiver connected to the speakers so we can use it to stream music from phone/tablet/etc.
Having looked at them there are literally hundreds. Any recommendations, bearing in mind the most expensive is not necessarily the best. Just want something that will connect without having to press buttons, put in plugs, etc.

Buy one from somewhere that accepts returns. One problem with some Bluetooth speakers is the slight delay relative to the source signal. Irrelevant when simply listening but very irritating if out of sync when watching TV.

I don't want Bluetooth speakers, I want a receiver.

How about a head unit with Bluetooth built in?
I have a Blankput New York head unit with Bluetooth and purchased a JBL flip hoping to connect, however I couldn't get the head unit to pair with the Bluetooth JBL speaker so will Watch this thread with interest

Yes, but we want to be able to bluetooth the TV into the speakers as well.
I think you probably know more than others. Is it not worth passing a radio fitters preferably an independent or TV specialist. Someone like Richer Sounds.
Will the current speakers you have accept Bluetooth? If not get radio and wire in speakers from radio and TV and job done

Yes, but we want to be able to bluetooth the TV into the speakers as well.
The only way you will be able to do that is if the TV has Bluetooth Audio out. And if it does you can connect it via bluetooth to the radio. And the same with all the songs on your phone, tablet and laptop, as long as they have bluetooth audio out to.

My speakers are standard so I need a receiver that standard stereo speakers connect to.

I was looking at something like this but don't know if I am looking at the right thing.
It won't let me put in a page link for some reason.

Standard in everyday that we get as in cars. If they're not Bluetooth speakers tgen your Bluetooth receiver won't be able to add to anything exctyour phones or lap tops. Is television Bluetooth sender because if not, even if you get Bluetooth receiver and Bluetooth speakers the TV won't connect.

How about one of these :- Amazon product ASIN B01L1DJ2HG
Sounds like it will do what you need and a lot more, I tried rigging up a system with something similar with two speakers (LEPY amp, also off amazon) but that didn't have Bluetooth.

But instead I now use a decent Bluetooth speaker for what you describe, a lot more convenient and the sounds is so good, amazing for their size (Can also connect to TV via a cable).

This is the one I have and would recommend :-

Not sure. I have been told I can get a Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the headphone socket and sends the sound to the bluetooth receiver. So I am told..

Well surely, and I may be wrong, but Bluetooth is wireless. What's the point Bluetooth wireless reception having to wire it up to radio and television. Either get all Bluetooth or standard (DAB) radio and wire that to speakers abd television. Mix and match font always work. Bit like Del Boy getting dressed in the dark.

So perhaps you get a Bluetooth receiver and connect to sound bar and leave the good speakers as ornamental

The receiver I pictured allows the speakers to be connected directly to it, then everything else bluetooths to the receiver. At least, that's the way I read it.

Ah ok, best get them then as the receivers I've see are pure Bluetooth. No wires etc. In the main, the old adage was the speakers are the quality.
