Blackish/Greyish Exhaust Smoke (1 Viewer)

2007 Ducato Motorhome, 22000 miles. When under acceleration excess smoke coming out, no smoke on start up, when running normally smoke coming out of exhaust all the time, although not sure how much as speed of vehicle is making it go away!!!, oil checked and just slightly above max..........Vehicle is running ok, power seems ok to me.

Has it suddenly started doing this or have you just got the van?
Try replacing the air filter?

You will find most deisel vans do this on hard acceleration, my 2003 transit connect does it , my Renault master does it, and just about every van i go behind , it is more obvious at night if you look in your mirrors when accelerating, it will happen even more if you have remapped the ECU, or have an ECU tune box

White smoke from a diesel is the one you should worry about

No remap.It is still coming out after hard accelaeration has seased, i have changed the air filter today and still same, im thinking maybe EGR Valve, injectors, rings???

Well it turned out to be EGR Valve, which was knackered anda split in the hose, so result.
