Had the MH a month which came with a Teleco 85cm satellite system to which I've added a FTA box to pick up UK TV in France. Worked on handover but it seems to be very intermittent over the time I've been using it and I put it down to the fact that I've moved in and out of the Astra 28 footprint, or so I thought....

So last week when I preparing for few days away touring in the Correze I tried it in our garden, no signal even though the smaller fixed dish was close by and giving a perfect signal of the BBC...So I deleted all channels, moved the van closer to the fixed dish and did an auto search and low and behold found 615 channels and everything was perfect...
A day or two later set off and stopped at Tulle SuperU for provisions which is about 150 kms SW of where we live..Perfect signal...We moved a further 40 kms SW, NO BL**DY signal even though another UK van with a smaller dish was happily watching the olympics...
So on our way home we stopped at Tulle SuperU, exactly the same parking spaces, NO BL**DY signal...So switch everything off and on, Nothing, Delete all channels and search again, Nothing, in desperation I change the dish to Astra 19 and search and find 650+ mainly German channels...Back to Astra 28 search again and now all 615 channels reappear and a perfect picture of the olympics !!!!

So we travel 75 kms North towards home and find a perfect treeless hill to stop on, try again, NO SIGNAL on Astra 28, try Astra 19 perfect...

What is happening???

I've got an Oyster so yours may operate slightly differently.

When the dish goes up it does an automatic search based on your previous location. Sometimes mine has also failed to lock on to the desired satellite. When this happens, I do a manual search and this normally works.

Might be worth a try.

I'll try that if I can find the instructions on how to do it....

Been getting away since 2008
I've got a 65cm Teleco dish and it works fine in Italy with all channels. Was watching Midlands Today on the BBC for local news and weather

cant help with your query, but I am often pleased we have a dome, many a time seen conventional dishes dancing around on roofs for hours, relocation and then repeat, ours either works or it doesn't, but we can always put a DVD in a pretend it is brilliant reception

I have also found that cloud cover makes a massive difference to picture quality and any rain if too far south stops the signal completely

Heat is our only problem at the moment, now over 30C perhaps 35C at midday...Cloudless, windless

Just don't believe the lengths you lot will go to to have the telly on! Whatever happened to socialising, exploring one's surroundings, discovering local culture or even reading a good book or doing a crossword? Leave the telly at home and save yourselves a lot of hassle - I bet you won't even miss it after a few days.
