To slightly expand on Davids very accurate but short explanation, turn right the follow what they call "Tonka's" western route down France to cross into Spain at San Sebastian and then head straight through Spain via Palencia Salamanca Cacares and possibly Seville and then turn right when you feel like it and head to the Algarve, feel free to change this as you wish as there are always more than one way to skin a cat (where that comes from I dont know).

And in a display of shameless self promotion you could scan my old thread
http://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/to-spain-without-tolls.123596/ and it won't cost you a penny in tolls either, I do tell you the stops we used but of course there are many more depending on the smiles you want to cover per day.

Martin Is this a made up place? Google maps can't find it.
Made up by my keyboard or stubby fingers, edited to Caceres, and now it wants to put "careers"

You are lucky I didn't get Palencia wrong;)

There is a great (free) aire at chateaudun on the way down plus another we stop at futher down at Cavignac (free) both just off the main route. At Cavignac there's a Mcd's if you want wifi also a Lidl and if you turn right out of the aire Thera a 24 hr petrol station before you get back on the main route. Which route you taking from the French/Spanish border ??. Both in camper contact.
