Yes I read 516 too so not an option to replace the 19" unless their spec is wrong. The most a Rapido can take is 490 absolute max and the sliding bracket needs modification at that too.

1994 and beyond...
Real quality 19 inch TV's seem to be a thing of the past, with the exception of Panasonic. but its over twice the price of the 22 inch samsung thas i mentioned earlier which gets excellent reviews. Could not justify it for van, and if a £99 tv gets stolen not the end if the world. just hope at 22 its not to big :(

edit: got that wrong! Samsung still do a 19 inch set! HD tuner as well..to late now, mine on the way....

Hi Wombles,
The Ref No for the Avtex TV L186DRS is for the old model? which is perhaps why it is £299-00.
In this months Which, it gives Avtex as a don't buy?. The one they recommend is Linsar 22LED2000ST/ Freeview HD £200-00. [240V?]
regards W/E

The Avtex is great for power consumption (always off hook up) and has a wide viewing angle, but I find the sound quality (not the volume) very poor. I do wear two hearing aids so that does have some impact, and I may have been spoilt as we use a sound bar with the TV at home. If sound quality is important to you then I would check it out prior to purchase.

Now that's interesting, I have two Phonak but still Mrs BB is deafened when watching TV...what sort of soundbar do you use Lorraine if I might ask ?

I could never see the value in Avtex TV's. The pricing reminds me of the old days when the price of a radiator for a Capri V6 was over twice that of one for a Transit, yet they were the same product.
There are many other examples of product pricing dictated by what the target market will pay and unrelated to 'normal' mark-up criteria.
An example is the price of the lock for the bathroom door charged by Rapido.

Indeed but why fit a lock on the door at all? My wife wouldn't dream of coming in when it's full
The shower opposite mine has no lock so why the bog? Rapido do lots of silly things
