Two streets in the north-east of England have been voted the best for shopping and "hipness" in a high-profile competition.
Bondgate Within in Alnwick, Northumberland, was named Britain's best shopping street, while South Shore Road in Gateshead took the award for Britain's hippest street.
They beat stiff competition from streets in major cities such as London, Leeds, Edinburgh and Manchester to win the Google Street View Awards contest.
The awards were voted for by over 20,000 people.
Sarah Stuart, from the NewcastleGateshead Initiative, said: "It's just shown how the investment in the area has just completely transformed the whole of the Gateshead side of the Quayside which is fantastic.
"It's just yet again one more accolade that we can use when we're seeking to promote the area, attracting people to come and visit, come here to work, come here to live and really showing what a great place this is now."
Six North East streets were nominated in the awards.
Laura Scott, of Google, said: "I think it's clear that people not just from the area, but also people who have visited from outside the area, obviously really credit the North East as being not only great for shopping, but also hip or trendy.
"There's lots of talk from the government about Britain's high streets and I think Alnwick kind of describes what the perfect high street would be like.
