After spending months in Portugal, using free wifi at the various campsites, we're struggling to find the same in France. It's a real battle. So we've concluded we need a dongle. A pay-as-you-go thingy would be good. Does anyone know which provider is best in France?

A lot of campsites in France have wifi, on some usage is free on others they make a charge. French dongles for wifi are expensive in their data use e.g. SFR wanted €9 daily for internet connection with one of their payg dongles.
Mc Donalds have free wifi over there - but i wouldnt use it for anything like checking bank accounts personally

Vodafone do a Data Traveller package now which is £10 a month for contract or I think £2 for occasional use. It has a limit of 25MB per day which isnt much but enough for checking emails or researching Aires etc.

Personally I use a Wifi antnenna which is very good. The Repeat IT model I have which is very powerful was built by the Swiss Military but sadly its no longer available. The good new is this cheaper model is proving quite succesful Link Removed
