since april 2016 Belgium has introduced a satellite toll system

Real PITA for larger units.

You get them through a metal booth thing at the start of the motorway on entry.
It's moderately straightforward but you need evidence of euro emission status and weight.

Big bug is €125 for the satellite box then minimum €50 pre pay.

I hope I can get most back on exit - the cost is 70c per km.

Interesting queues of chain smoking east European truck drivers trying to work the Sisyphean system.

Will certainly stop me returning to Belgium I. The near future.. Bruges Christmas market is definitely OFF.

I think that applies only to goods vehicles, MHs would be exempt. :)

This page itself doesn't mention motorhomes but there is a small pic at the bottom. This picture is a table (in Dutch) containing various categories. If a motorhome is a 'mobilhome', then the 'beslissing' or 'decision' is 'niet onderworpen' or 'not subjected', according to Mr Google. No weight is mentioned on that line.

You can also download the table as a pdf at Link Removed

Taken from Viapass faq's...

"
Which vehicles are exempted from kilometer charge?

The law explicitly specifies a number of categories that are exempt from kilometer charges. These are vehicles that are used exclusively by the military, firefighters, police and medical services. Also tractors for for agriculture, forestry and fish farming which drive seldomly on the public road are exempted. Some other specific categories are exempt as well like passenger vehicles (cars, buses, campers ...). In the case of combined vehicles, the toll only applies if the maximum authorized mass of the tractor intended for freight, is over 3.5 tonnes."

Agree only applies to goods vehicles but if over 3.5 you have to send an application or for foreigners:
