picked up my mh yesterday and noticed there was no leci on 12v so i switched on the engine turned her over but still no leci brought her home onto ehu and leci all ok noticed 1 light on so i must have drained the leisure totally but the question is why didnt the leci work off the engine bat when i turned the engine on or is this normal ?
sorry also after around 3 hrs on ehu the leci works off of ehu now so battery charged up around 20% i think

Can't remember ;)
DOES IT HAVE A SPLIT CHARGE RELAY?sounds like it does not-some vans may only have a single relay powering the fridge so no charge to LB -others don't even have any relay:winky:
If everything worked on hook up chances are no relay

even if the battery was goosed your 12v should work off the engine

Hence my thinking no split relay

UK built vans usually have an inhibitor relay so the hab 12v is disconnected with the engine running...only the split charge and fridge supply works.

EU built vans usually dont have the inhibitor relay so do work.

some strange UK National Caravan Council (NCC) requirement

if you can find the second relay its easy to bypass....did it on my old Kontiki (next to the charger) and took less than a minute.

Have you replaced the light bulbs with LED's? If not it would be worth doing as they use a fraction of the current.

split charge relay is an automatic switch which connects your leisure battery to your engine battery when the engine is running for charging purposes.

it prevents you using your engine battery to power the hab 12v appliances when on site and thus ensures you can start the engine

did you have a switch on the control panel to select either engine or leisure battery Bill ?

if not, theres a wiring problem.
