I have a 75W solar panel which came with the van and would like to know what is the biggest battery in AH that it could handle. At the moment i have a Varta Battery code no 957052000 E33t 12v 75Ah(5h) 90Ah(20h) which i think is loosing charge and would like to replace with something bigger.

Thanks for your help.

The panel itself will work with any size battery, it has a certain amount of flow and thats yer limit
it will charge, albeit slightly slower say a 115 amp battery:thumb: or two even slower
that size panel on its own will rarly put back quickly what you take out, so even with your 75 amp battery its a slow refill process

Forgot to add you will be better off with a bigger battery and no worse off charging wise
even a dripping tap will fill a lake given time

Thanks Geo for your help.

Would the controller between the Solar Panel and the battery need changing also?

You don't say what controller you have
I assume its suitable, working now and matched to the panel, changing battery size wont affect it any:thumb:

in a perfect world your panel will produce around 6amps...in reality it will be nearer to 4amps at best..... and most controllers are 10amp minimum you wont need to change it.
